EXPERIENCE

For more than three decades, Dr. Darrell Wright has served as a bridge between brokenness and restoration. With 34 years of personal sobriety, he brings not only professional expertise but also the testimony of a life transformed by God’s grace. Dr. Wright’s ministry began in the heart of Los Angeles, where he devoted over 25 years to serving the homeless community, many of those years spent walking the streets of Skid Row. He served as a substance abuse counselor at Faithful Central Bible Church, the Los Angeles Mission, and for 14 years at the Weingart Center Association, providing hope and tools for recovery to those who had all but given up. Ordained in 2002 by United Faith Ministries, Dr. Wright has ministered as a Licensed Minister at Faithful Central Bible Church and as Associate Pastor at First New Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under Dr. Norman Johnson’s leadership. His pastoral work extended beyond the pulpit—co-pastoring an outreach ministry for six years that brought countless individuals to Christ, and serving as Co-Pastor at Harbor Light Rehabilitation Facility, where he preached, counseled, and led life skills groups for men in recovery. Today, Dr. Wright continues to serve through a nonprofit organization, assisting the homeless and elderly in accessing critical benefits, while also maintaining a private counseling practice in marriage and family therapy, crisis intervention, and substance abuse recovery. His work reflects a calling to meet people where they are, walk with them through the darkest seasons, and point them toward the life-changing power of God’s love.
